The most important thing of all. KrewU does not replace the emergency services. An SOS alerts the people the family has chosen, not the emergency services. In case of immediate danger, call the emergency number for wherever you are: 112 in Europe, 911 in the United States.
Who provides the service
The provider
ElleMultiverse S.R.L., Via Dante 13/15, 20056 Trezzo sull'Adda (MI), Italy. VAT 14184620962. Contact: info@krewu.it.
Who can use it
Accounts and profiles
The account always belongs to an adult. It is the adult who creates the young person's profile, links their device and answers for its use. The young person has no account of their own and cannot sign up alone.
KrewU is made for young people between 8 and 17. Under 14, data processing rests on the authorisation of the parent, who declares that they hold parental responsibility.
What it does and what it doesn't
The service
KrewU offers two things:
- a protected chat inside a closed network, in which every contact is approved by the parents;
- an SOS that alerts the people in the trusted circle and shows them where the young person is.
The service depends on connection, battery, operating-system permissions and the correct working of Apple's and Google's notification networks. We cannot guarantee that an alarm will always arrive everywhere, and no technology could.
The rules
How it's used
Inside KrewU you may not:
- send sexual, violent, hateful or otherwise unlawful content;
- harass, threaten, groom or deceive anyone about your identity;
- use the SOS as a joke;
- circumvent the checks, automate use of the app or attempt to access other families' data.
Images and videos go through an automatic check. Whoever receives a message can report it, and the report goes to the parents. We may suspend or close an account in case of serious or repeated breaches, giving notice except where the law prevents it.
Where child sexual abuse material is found, we preserve the evidence, block the accounts involved and report to the competent authorities.
Costs
Price
KrewU is free to use. KrewU Plus is an optional subscription that widens the family: more young people, more adults, trusted adults. SOS, location, chat and crew are identical on the free plan.
It costs 4.99 € per month or 39.99 € per year, tax included. What counts is always the amount the store shows at the time of purchase, in your country's currency. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase.
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You cancel it in your store's settings, not here and not in the app: on iPhone under Settings → your name → Subscriptions, on Android in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; the period already paid for stays valid until it ends. Refund requests go to the store that took the payment, under its own terms.
Closing
Withdrawal and deletion
The account is deleted from the app, in your profile section, at any time and without writing to us. Deletion removes the children's profiles, the circles, the locations and the codes. Messages already exchanged remain until the twelve months expire, because they belong to the other people in the conversation too.
Liability
Limits
The service is provided as is. We are not liable for damage arising from the failure or delay in delivering an alarm, from temporary unavailability, from inaccuracy of the location detected by the device, or from improper use by users. Nothing written here limits the mandatory rights granted to consumers by Italian and European law.
The rest
Governing law and changes
Italian law applies. For consumers, the competent court is that of their place of residence or domicile.
We may change these terms: substantial changes are announced in the app at least thirty days in advance, and anyone who doesn't accept them can close their account.
This is a courtesy translation. The Italian version is the binding one: in case of discrepancy, the Italian text prevails.
