From the app it's immediate. Open KrewU, go to Account, scroll down to Danger zone and tap Delete the account. You don't have to write to anyone and you don't have to wait for a reply.
If you no longer have the app
Write to us, and we'll do it
Send a message to privacy@krewu.it from the email address the account was created with. That's all we need: we don't ask for documents, we don't ask why.
We reply within thirty days, usually much sooner. If the account doesn't exist, we tell you instead of leaving you without an answer.
What disappears
What gets deleted
- the young people's profiles, with name and date of birth;
- the crews and the links with other families;
- the last known location — there's no history, only the last point exists, and it gets removed;
- the saved places and the linking codes;
- the parent's account;
- the technical users created to link the young people's phones.
If a child has a second parent linked, their profile isn't deleted: only the departing parent is removed. Whoever leaves KrewU doesn't take the child away from the other.
What stays, and why
Three exceptions, spelled out in full
Messages already exchanged stay until the twelve-month retention period expires. It isn't an oversight: a conversation belongs to the other person too, and deleting it from one side only would mean rewriting someone else's memories without asking them. After twelve months they disappear by themselves.
The consent log stays for ten years from the closure of the account — who consented, to what, when, on which version of the policy. It's the proof that processing a minor's data was authorised: destroying it would harm the data subject before it harmed us, and keeping it is a legal obligation (Arts. 5(2) and 7(1) GDPR).
Without closing the account
You can also delete just a part
You don't have to delete everything to delete something. From the app a parent can delete a single child's profile — with their crew, their location and their codes — while keeping their own account and the other children. And a young person can delete their own location by themselves: it's one tap, and they don't have to ask anyone's permission.
Reports of serious content already forwarded to the authorities stay, because they're no longer ours to remove.
The consent log contains no messages, photos or locations: they're rows with a date, a type of consent and an outcome.
If you change your mind
There's no going back
Deletion is final: we don't keep a copy to restore. If you want to keep something, export your data from the app first — Account → Export your data — and you get a readable file with everything there is.
